Arriving at a Junction

Hi All,
Not much to add to what Mark has stated already. A good day with 27.5km passing in pleasent circumstances, if we disregard the occasional, "Oh Ya ..." which is often in evidence when we have to start walking again after a rest. For some reason resting wearied feet and limbs is not the best thing to do if they have to start working again after a few minutes.

Today´s highlight was the sight of a family (Mum, Dad, three girls and a boy, the children all under 10 years old) walking along together in the early morning sunshine. The kids were jibbering away and singing and shouting "Buen Camino" to one and all. Everyone calls "Buen Camino" at some stage of the day. In so doing we recognise that on the Camino, even though we are personally trying as best we can to achieve whatever we can, there is always enough left over to show pleasure at the presence of our fellow travellers and encouragement in what they are trying to do. That is what makes it special.

And on a final personal special note for a special person, Happy Birthday Rachel. Hope you have a wonderful day.

sounds like the camino is weaving its magic on you both :) am so glad the C21st meets the C12th with so many internet cafes that we can keep uptodate so well. i was looking at the 14th century pilgrim's guide in a manuscript exhibition yesterday at the british library, and thought of you. made me wonder what the C14th equivalent was - or rather how distressing it must have been for families to wait in silence to hear news after a return. reminds you how setting off on pilgrimage was a huge endeavour then, as you're finding it now, but maybe not quite exactly the same questions/issues to deal with on the way. similar enough though. glad you're taking time in the afternoons to sit in the coolth of the churches along the way and commune, with whoever there is to commune with...

Hey Arthur and Mark! - apologies for not coming in before - but have been tracking you okay, and enjoying the blogs. You have both been adding mighty lustre to your cluster.
Max managed his daunder along the West Highland Way with three pals okay - though I had to chase him to Balmaha and gie him his jaicket. The Highers tally was sound.
Lucy's OU telly ad is out, and I caught it a couple of times - blink and you'll miss her - even though she flits through half a dozen costume changes.
I did my gig at the Edinburgh Book Festival last night - nice crowd, good atmosphere - and Highland Park in strange wobbly sided glases in the author's yurt. Aye, yurt.
Meg on a break between shifts. We'll maybe do a movie later.
Still managing the footie on Sunday mornings (me that is, nae Meg) - and sometimes Thursday eve. Bit of a tweaked Achilles last time, and also flew doon once on the great derriere - (all weather pitch, Jeezo) - but no lasting damage.
All the best on the "path with heart" -- Heid the ba. x Sandy
